"I especially notice the difference on recordings. The percs and everything sounds so beautiful now."

"Pat,

I finished up the generator cap job and everything works fine. It sounds very nice and the percussion seems like it has more power. Anyway, thanks for putting so much effort into providing the wherewithal for the average Hammond owner to upgrade his instrument.

The e-book guide that you have supplied with the kit is very nicely done with great help links and helpful color pictures.

Again I must thank you for the Generator kit. I sent a couple wave files to my friend for a song he is doing and he called me up and said, "What did you do different, the tracks sound amazing." And they do!

I especially notice the difference on recordings. The percs and everything sounds so beautiful now. I so do appreciate what you have done for Hammond owners.

Best wishes,

Gary"

"It's a completely different instrument, and no question... it's a much better instrument.."

"Hi,

I recapped my 1957 B-3 with this kit, and the results were astounding. It was like I had removed a heavy, wet blanket from the sound and now I could actually hear the organ! It's a completely different instrument, and no question... it's a much better instrument. What's more impressive is the personal attention and assistance I have received from Patrice.

He has provided unlimited consulting to address my questions. It turned out that my B3 was an early model which had a B2 Vibrato line box. Patrice spent considerable time to source an appropriate kit for me.

I would recommend this service to anyone. Even if you are a bit timid (as I was) to dive into the internals of your instrument, you will get personal guidance and encouragement to reduce your fear and get you going!"

"It's incredible how my '55 B3 sounds brighter and louder now..."

"Hello Pat,

I just installed this kit and it's incredible how my '55 B3 sounds brighter and louder now. I'm not an tech guy but I had no difficulties to install it, thanks to the E-book which is very helpful.

Thank you!"

"Hi Pat,

I just purchased your CD last night and I am eagerly buzzing around through all your great info. I was wondering if you could tell me more of your background. You seem to know a great deal.

I am a professional bassist (upright and elec.) and have been most of my life. I grew up playing in bands with B3 players from my early days in Rock and Blues bands to later days in Jazz."

Thanks Pat

"Hi Pat! Man that’s a great guide! This is an extremely
valuable and well-done CD that should be considered
mandatory reading for anyone even considering ' gettin' under the hood' on a console Hammond, especially the B-3.

The detailed, step-by-step instructions and the clear, illustrative photos offer even a regular guy like me, a player but certainly not a technician, a comprehensive roadmap to many of the most common and beneficial restoration tasks, as well as some great ideas for ' tweaking ' the sound of your Hammond.

I sure could have used this guide for the full-restore I did on a beat-up ol' 1954 Hammond B-2 over the summer....it would have made life a lot easier. Honestly, I think anyone will be glad to have this CD in hand !"

Thanks Pat!"

"Since I need to maintain four organs and six Leslies in my rental fleet, this CD has come in handy in order to save trips to the Hammond tech. I move organs 6 or 8 times a month, and play in 2 Blues bands and am always having to tune up something at the gig.

I've provided organs to Monterey Jazz Fest and Monterey Blues Fest as well as many others in Central California for 15 years. This CD is a lifesaver for me. Thanks again,"

"I've been both a fan of the Hammond tonewheel sound and a performer on the B3 since 1967. And through the years I've gained quite a bit of knowledge on how the systems work and ways to enhance the sound.

Currently, I'm an authorized full line dealer for the Hammond Suzuki Organs, Keyboards, and Leslies in Nebraska, Northern Kansas and Colorado here in the United States. I am simply amazed at how the new organs sound and perform.

First though, my allegiance is with the vintage Hammonds and Leslies that started it all. But, as we all know, those systems are aging and keeping them up to spec is the trick.

As I was browsing online recently I happen to come across your website and the CD offer. It's cost and the content that was included sounded very appealing to me. So, I figured that was definitely worth the investment and ordered the Hammond B3 and Leslie Tips Restoration CD.

Much of it I was aware of and what I didn't know I found very informative! In fact, a person kind of wonders if he would have ever found some of this info.

I really appreciate your research! It definitely will be helpful. Whenever I can sit down and read information on the Hammond Organ and how to maintain and tweak the sound, it is always a treat!!!.

Many Thanks,

Steve"

"Hi Pat!

Thanks so much for all your hard work making this CD available to guys like me! My 1963 A-102 started going down hill this year. It’s lost all its punch and high end. I knew it needed some TLC but I didn’t know where to turn.

I phoned a few service companies, but I wasn’t willing to pay the amount of money they were quoting. Then I stumbled across your “Hammond B3/Leslie 122/147 Improvement & Restoration CD”. I have no previous electronics experience, although I can manage a soldering gun.

Your info has given me all the information I need to restore my Hammond and Leslie 147 back to its original glory! Maybe even better! Best of all I can do it all myself!!!

(And thanks for helping me out with all the extra questions via email!)

All the best!"

"Pat,

I just wanted to express how pleased I am with the results of the info you gave in your CD that I recently purchased. I have all the necessary work done except for your tube substitution tips for the Leslie.

Everything I changed was an improvement and when I finished it was as great sounding as you described. I have to give you and God all the credit for your CD.

This is the sound I have always heard back when I was playing in bands in the 60\'s up until now. I never had a B-3 back then just an L-112 and 147 Leslie.

Thank you so much for all your research. May God bless you and your family to the fullest."

“Pat I have been looking for a quality Hammond restoration CD and finally found it. ‘Hammond B-3 And Leslie 122/147 Improvement And Restoration Tips’ is an excellent guide for how to rebuild major components in a A100/C3/B3 organ.

I have a 1959 A100 and 1972 Leslie 145 and found the CD an excellent resource for explaining how to rebuild the AO-28 preamp and 147 Leslie amp. I like the fact that you offer the rebuild kits and provides free schematics to go along with the CD, what an excellent idea!

I really appreciated your appendix section where you explain basic electronics and how to use a solder iron to make good solder joints.

This CD covers it all and I highly recommend it to all Hammond / Leslie enthusiasts.

Great Job!”

''Pat thank you so much, I finally got the sound I was looking for with my XK-3 and 122''

After doing the mod suggested in your ebook I was really impressed with the added screaming sound I got from my XK-3! At first I thought that I couldn’t do it and it was way too difficult, but after I saw all the steps with all the pictures you have added, it gave me confidence to do it!

After I was so excited with the new Leslie sound, but I was really proud of myself too!

Thank you so much Pat!

''I tried your ebook because your description page was referring to the exact same problem I had''

When I saw your advert I was in shock because you made me realize that I was not totally satisfied with my Hammond sound, even though I made all the restoration task you suggested me in your book.

Of course my 1959 C-3 sounded a lot better after my work than it was originally but I guess that I was not totally satisfied. So I bought your new ebook because your description page was referring to the exact same complaint I had about my Leslie sound.

It was warm and fat but a bit boring, without the screaming sound heard in Rock Soul or Pop music. After doing the 5 steps to my 122 amplifier I could not believe how good the sound was, plus the overdrive is now a lot more noticeable!

The guitarist in my band made a comment about my Hammond having such a better sound and I was really happy to tell him what I did! Thanks Pat

''Pat I was very skeptical''

I am 53 years old and I have played the Hammond since I’ve been 17 yo. I don't want to brag but I know quite a lot about the Hammonds.. I used to play in bands a lot but now I play the Hammond in my studio at home.

I went online the other day and I found your site (quite interesting BTW) I came across your page where you promise that any 122 Leslie could sound brighter so this caught my curiosity and I started reading.

To be honest Pat I was really skeptical but I managed to read what you had to say and it sounded like you knew what you were doing so I said to myself ok let's give it a shot.

Once I got your information I was impressed by the pictures you have placed inside the manual. It was late at night last Friday, my wife was gone so I took my amplifier out of the Leslie cabinet and I started doing the recommended steps, one by one.

It took me about an hour and I was finished. I checked my connections and I placed the amp back in the Leslie. I started my RT-3 and waited for the tube to warm up while holding a chord because I couldn’t wait to hear the sound.

When I finally heard the Hammond, It reminded me of the great sound of the late great Billy Preston! Definitely brighter then I pushed it into distortion to see what I would get and the sound was as you promised... Once again Pat good job!

“Hi Pat,

Ever since the first M100 I used to play, I’ve been modifying and partly improving my organs. But I could use a guideline to seriously update the internals of my A100.

Your work is really helpful for everybody who wants to improve their organ’s sound, but is still in doubt whether they can do it themselves.

You prevent so many of the Frequently Made Mistakes, which saves time, money and most of all disappointment.

The best about it is the visualization, you understand the situation immediately, thanks to the pics. Updating the capacitors in the TG made a huge improvement to the tonal balance, recapping the AO-28 and the leslie amp made the sound so much opener, just what I was looking for.

Thank you! ”

'' Those wrenches are the best tools that I have used thus far to recalibrate a Hammond tone generator.''

“I used the Tone Generator wrench to recalibrate the TG of my 1965 C3 organ. Those wrenches are the best tools that I have used thus far to recalibrate a Hammond tone generator.

The hex head fits in snugly with the hex head screws and the comfortable thick handle allows for more delicate control when carefully tightening the hex head screws.”

Considering that there are ninety one pickup magnet rods on the TG, having this wrench which fits in snugly  with the hex head screws help to save a lot of time when recalibrating the whole TG.

The snug fit also helps to minimize the chance of wearing out the hex heads of the fragile screws which are made of a soft metal alloy. I wish that I had a  wrench like this the previous times that I recalibrated a TG."

"Hey Pat,

Thanks so much for the Ebook on Hammond B-3 drawbar settings....it's terrific! Obviously you've put some real time in on this subject.

I've played a B-3 professionally for more than 35 years and it still seems like I can find new combinations....certainly your  method will take me even deeper into this lifelong study.

Many thanks and long live the Hammond B-3, the ORIGINAL SYNTHESIZER !"

"Hi Pat,

I was a little dubious about buying this book because although i used to own a hammond ( I now use a clone ) I wasnt sure if it would be any good for me  but the settings work great just like the real thing.

I can now get the sounds I hear played by my fav bands and players without having tofiddle around for ages plus the info is so straight forward well written and easy to understand if you own a Hammond or like me a clone this is a must read and for the price its a steal!"

Regards,"

"Hi Pat,

I´m from Germany and my English is not very good. But I bought an old Hammond A102 in America an I want play with a sound like Procol harum or Spencer davis and so on.

For it was my first hammond I needed an help for the many drawbars orvibrato, chorus percussion...

So your e-book was a great help for me to exercise with the drawbars an becoming the sound I like so much.

Therefor
thank you, and give us more examples in settings for the great Rock and blues songs of the years from 1960 to 1980!"

Thanks again!
